Family of Richard Stockton (N.J) who signed The American Declaration Independence. He declared
neutral, and was the only signer who made the oath of loyalty to the Crown as well.
He is one of only six signers who are immortalised in statue in the Capitol building,
Washington.
Attractive starred border. Numbered 61 to centre of mark, perhaps date 1861.Possibly made for novelist Francis Richard Stockton.1834-1902. Married 1860 and established an engraving office in New York.
