W'eve all dreamed of sailing away to exotic destinations, and
if you have a few million to spare, those dreams are a little easier to realise.
A little sun in a fantastic location is always a tonic. Mooring in hard to reach quiet, exclusive bays, exploring the coast or perhaps a little golf? The rich and famous
have always relished private yachts and the freedom and exclusivity
they provide.
The informal family time aboard the much loved HMS Britannia ,
gave the British Royal family essential time to relax. JFK's Presidential Yacht
Honey Fitz was actually used by five Presidents. Coco Chanel's eponymously named yacht, originally named Matilda, was perfect for hosting the fashion world she created. Diana, Princess of Wales loved her time with Dodi aboard the Al-Fayed yacht Jonikal built in 1990.
In more recent times, we have entered the era of the Superyacht. One of the largest
ever built in Britain, was called Sarafsa. This £65 million beauty was designed by Winch
Design and launched by Devonport Yachts in 2008. Built for a Saudi Prince, this 82 metre
floating palace evoked all the style of the Grimaldi's, Prince Rainer and Princess Grace. Able to port in Monaco, her length belied her incredible volume. With her marquetry, gilded wood, tapestries and Louis XVI furniture and fittings, she embodied both the Cote D'Azur and ancestral chic.

Time and tide wait for no man and these sea borne behemoths inevitably suffer the changing ravages of tide, wind, technology and fashion before (hopefully) rebirth
under new ownership. Rarely though, do we have the opportunity to experience a piece of that precious fabric. To that end, please explore the storied yacht porcelains I have curated,
just for you.
