DESCRIPTION
Here is a simply incredible armorial plate ! It bears the royal arms of the kingdom of Italy, as used between 1870-1890. Hidden between the dragons, is a monogram, "VE" for Vittorio Emanuele, (Victor Emmanuel) King of Italy. I believe it is Vittorio Emanuele III.
MORE DETAILS
The plate has Japanese decoration on European porcelain. The mark translates as " Dai Nichi Hon, Yoko Hama, Yama (or Zan?) Ro Sei". Great Japan, Yokohama. ?? Make. Unmistakeable Japanese decoration and hand painting. The method of holding the brush is quite different; strokes are made with a flick of the wrist. Usually the dragons are chasing the flaming pearl of wisdom, here the monogram has been cleverly incorporated in the design. Don't miss this beautiful rare plate! . You could not wish for a more perfect design. Vittorio Emanuele Re Italia Di' Savoy.
