MORE DETAILS

On the right, a Baroness's crown and "HC" for his wife Hester, daughter of Viscount Cobham, created Baroness Chatham in 1761. On the left, an Earls coronet for Pitt, Earl of Chatham. Perfect for any discerning collection.

One of the most important statesmen of the 18th Century, Pitt was foremost in the creation of a British Empire. He was determined to win the Seven Years war with France, was sympathetic to the American colonies, and strengthened Naval dominance. A commanding figure in Parliament, his classical studies had lent him the skills as an orator to be a formidable opponent. Pittsburgh, USA is named after him. His final resting place is Westminster Abbey.
