German Armorial Monogram Plate QUEEN OLGA OF WURTTENBERG / RUSSIA

A superb porcelain plate made for GRAND DUCHESS OLGA OF RUSSIA. Bearing her Royal Cypher or monogram. Retailers mark of Tritschler & Co Stuttgart.

GRAND DUCHESS OLGA NIKOLAEVNA was the second daughter of TSAR NICHOLAS I and sister to TSAR ALEXANDER II.

  Born in 1822, she was though to be cultured and attractive and a very eligable princess.

She married CROWN PRINCE CHARLES OF WURTTEMBERG on 13 July 1846 at the Peterhof Palace, Russia and returned to VILLA BERG in Stuttgart where they spent most of their lives. Charles became king in 1864, making Olga the fourth QUEEN WURTTEMBERG. Tritschler & Co of Suttgart supplied several royal services to the family.
