Pair Armorial Crest Monogram Plates after Grand Duke Alexander Alexandrovich
A beautiful pair of Paris Monogrammed and crested plates. Central crest of a broken sword or dagger and Monogram "J N B". Superb quality gilded decoration. Interestingly, the border design is identical to a service made for Grand Duke Alexander Alexandrovitch, later Tsar Alexander III of Russia (reign 1881-1894).
Excellent condition. Some wear, regilding. One chip each to footrim.
Measure approx 9 Inches wide.
The Banquet Service was made by The Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg in Russia about 1860 for his residence at the Anichkov palace and supplements were made up to his death in 1894.
